Lara Massini is a composer and songwriter.

 

She was born and raised in Florence in the late 1970s and began playing the piano and creating musical compositions at an early age, following in her father's footsteps.

 

Moving to the United States in the mid-1990s, she interrupted her musical studies to pursue a university and job career that kept her busy for a few years between Boston, New York, Milan, and London. During this time, she had the opportunity to enjoy and develop several musical genres, ranging from cinema music and soundtracks to Jazz music, American/British pop, Latin American music, Middle Eastern and Arabic-French music.

 

Back in Florence, she resumed her musical studies at LMWS, Walter Savelli Music Laboratory, after taking individual piano, composition, and vocal classes.

She also took the Fare e Disfare Canzoni songwriting course, which was organised by LMWS in partnership with musician/lyricist Beppe Dati.

Between 2017 and 2020, she performed as a vocalist/pianist in LMWS live evenings at the Il Pozzo dei Desideri venue in Florence, as well as a singer in the LMWS Music History event at the Teatro Cantiere Florida in Florence.

She gradually addressed the arranging and production of musical works beginning in 2020.

 

From 2021 to 2022, she attended Mario Fanizzi's three-level songwriting programme, having the opportunity to collaborate in numerous co-writing sessions and to participate in the MFK, The Songwriter Contest, a virtual contest organised by Fanizzi and dedicated to the writing of unreleased songs.

In 2021, she enrolled in the Commercial Music Production university programme given by the Florence Academy in partnership with the University of the West of Scotland (UWS) School of Business and Creative Industries.

Her first unpublished piece, L'Ultima Illusione, was released the same year, as was her second, Sotto Questo Cielo, a few months later.

 

While completing her studies in Commercial Music Production, she is now working on the development of a series of unpublished musical works, both instrumental and otherwise, with the assistance of various industry experts.
